Finnish films control 23% of an all-digitised cinema market

- The digitisation of Finnish cinemas was completed last year – not one title was released on 35 mm – and for the first time in 30 years, 200 films were in distribution, taking 7.7 million admissions, the third best result of the century.

According to statistics published by the Finnish Film Foundation, four domestic features entered the list of top ten films, including, at number one, Johanna Vuoksenmaa’s 21 Ways to Ruin a Marriage [+see also:

, which sold 403,045 tickets. The local market share reached 23%.

Finnish fare was also popular internationally: festival screenings of Finnish films have increased by 48% over the last five years – in 2013, Finland was represented at more than 500 international showcases and collected a total of 48 prizes. Finnish films were released in 20 territories.
