Nordisk to work more closely with Fridthjof Film, buys 25% stake

- Danish major Nordisk Film and Danish production outfit Fridthjof Film will expand their current distribution agreement to include the development of projects for film and television drama.

Nordisk, which, since 2008, has owned a 50% share in Zentropa Entertainments, has accordingly purchased 25% of Fridthjof Film; managing director of Nordisk Film Production Henrik Zein and head of Nordisk business development Rikke Crosby will join the company’s board.

“Fridthjof Film has become a strong, independent player in Danish cinema; as co-owners, we want to strengthen its profile and support the diversity of Danish film to secure an ongoing outlet of quality productions. We will both benefit from using each other’s special skills,” explained Zein.

“The collaboration with Nordisk will increase our production potential outside Denmark – a focus will be Nordic projects with other Scandinavian producers, especially in TV fiction and feature films,” added Ronnie Fridthjof, who set up his Copenhagen-based outfit in 2000.

His recent credits include Andreas Koefoed’s documentary The Arms Drop (2014), Janus Metz Pedersen’s documentary Armadillo [+see also:
