(Sundance, World Cinema Documentary Competition), Bobby Păunescu’s Pioneers Palace B’92 (Sundance, Special Events) and newcomer Adrian Ţofei, whose found-footage horror Be My Cat: A Film for Anne has just been announced in the competition at Fantasporto.

Several first features are expected next year, such as Anca Miruna Lăzărescu’s That Trip We Took With Dad [+see also:

, Nicolae Constantin Tănase’s The World Is Mine and Vlad Păunescu’s Live. Nap Toader, Adrian Sitaru, Cristian Comeagă, Lucian Alexandrescu, Ioan Cărmăzan, Andrei Zincă, George Dorobanţu, Adrian Enache and Adrian Popovici are among the other directors who will finish new features for a 2015 domestic release.

The high number of releases is expected to force producers and distributers to invest in promotion campaigns, as Romanian audiences are usually reluctant to favour local productions.
