Industry Report: Forum d'Avignon: Which Culture for Europe?

Orchestrating time

- Ernst & Young survey

Which time and value control by creative industries and Media

The last Forum d’Avignon, about “The reasons to hope: Imagine and transmit”, focused particularly on the long-term survival of the heritage and its transmissibility. It is in this context that Ernst & Young decided to study the tempo issue to determine how the creation of a cultural and economic heritage which is set to be ongoing, is endangered by the – real or perceived – acceleration of innovation and of Media consumption.

(The article continues below - Commercial information)

The tempo is fundamental in the whole chain of creative industries: it influences the creative process and acts on the development, the distribution and the content consumption. In view of this evolution, the companies in the sector must adapt to the new technologies. They have to find a way of balancing, on one hand, the ravenous greed of consumers for contents renewed all the time, always quicker and immediately, and on the other hand, an everlasting and transmissible creation.
