IL MNEMONISTA

by Paolo Rosa

synopsis

Too many memories will drive you crazy. "S" has an exceptional memory and decides to ask professor "L", a world-famous psychologist to help him limit this double-edged gift when the notes on a sheet of music that "S" is sight-reading explode into thousands of vibrantly coloured moving dots. "S" and "L" soon go well beyond the normal doctor-patient relationship and the doctor finds that he finds "S", his stories and his extraordinary gifts quite fascinating. "S" does not get any relief from his sessions with the doctor, abandons the therapy and starts to work in variety shows as a "memory man" in theatres and cabarets. This is the only thing he knows that can "free" him from his omnivorous memory skills. But perhaps there still is one way left to stop the "mnemonist" from remembering everything.
