synopsis

Left by her husband of 25 years and convinced she is dying of cancer, Paula decides to embark on an obsessive quest: first poisoning her wayward husband and then killing herself! Her Downs Syndrome grandson, Thomas, decides to accompany her and the film charts their growing friendship with caustic humour and unsentimental insights as they take off on a belligerent, eventful and often comical trip.
