BE LIKE KAZIMIERZ DEYNA

by Anna Wieczur-Bluszcz

synopsis

Być jak Kazimierz Deyna, based on the play of Radosław Paczocha, is a fascinating journey to the period of the People’s Republic of Poland, to an average Polish family, in which small Kazik is born. It happens on the day on which Kazimierz Deyna scores a famous goal during the match with Portugal, in 1977. Kazik's father takes it for a clear sign and decides that his son will also be a famous footballer. Even though, as it later turns out, joint trainings don’t bring any special results, father stubbornly believes in an inborn football talent of his son. Trainings under the guidance of a local coach also clearly indicate that football is not Kazik’s vocation. While growing up, the boy realizes that he must find his own way of life.
