CRUEL JOYS
by Juraj Nvota
synopsis
This gentle story of temptation, secrets and helplessness brought on by the search for love begins in the fall of 1933 when the superficial calm in a small idyllic Slovak town is disturbed by the arrival of a taciturn girl named Valentina. Even though she is only now learning to be a woman, she unintentionally reminds others how important it is to live life responsibly.
