ULTIMA THULE

by Hans-Ulrich Schlumpf

synopsis

When successful stock broker Alfred leaves for work on a dull summer day, he has no idea what dramatic turn his life is about to take. On the journey into work he has a major car accident and ends up in intensive care, fighting for his life. As his wife sits by his side, praying for him to recover, Alfred embarks on another very different journey. While his body lies motionless at the hospital, Alfred is actually flying over mountain tops and glaciers. Although he is seemingly dead, Alfred’s inner self is making a huge journey around the world, experiencing the full force of nature, something we often forget in our modern lives. A film about death that celebrates life.
