Marie Losier

Marie Losier was born in France on June 6, 1972. She studied literature at the University of Nanterre and fine art in New York City. She lives in New York, where she works as a filmmaker and curator. She has shown her films and videos at museums, galleries, biennials and festivals. Marie Losier has made a number of film portraits of avant-garde directors, musicians and composers, such as Mike and George Kuchar, Guy Maddin, Richard Foreman and Tony Conrad. She has also performed in films by George Kuchar, Mike Kuchar, and Jackie Raynal, and in plays by Juliana Francis and Tony Torn. The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye is her first feature length film, that won the Caligari Film Award and Teddy Award for best documentary at the Berlinale 2011. (Source : Berlin Film Festival)
