Martine Doyen

Born in 1961. After her higher education, she took courses in dramatic art (direction and acting at LASSAAD International Theatre School, Brussels) and film writing. In parallel, she directed her first short films in Super 8mm and video formats (around ten films, some of which won awards at various alternative festivals).

She went on to write and direct around 15 portraits of artists of all kinds for the French-speaking Belgian television corporation RTBF, a series of 70 burlesque sequences (Expressions) and around 15 mini docu-fictions for the Belgian Canal+ television channel in collaboration with Fabrice du Welz.

In addition to film commissions and alternative productions for the theatre or the contemporary arts, she has written and directed four short and medium-length fictional feature films, followed by her first full-length fictional feature film: Komma.
