Nine German (co)productions head to the Hamptons

Germany will be represented at the 17th Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF, October 8-12) with a total of eight German (co)productions.

Florian Gallenberger’s John Rabe [+see also:

and Sherry Hormann’s Desert Flower [+see also:

will both have their US premieres in the Spotlight sidebar. The festival's World Cinema section will feature Alain Gsponer’s Lila, Lila as well as Here and There [+see also:

by Aku Louhimies. All five films are German co-productions.

Meanwhile, Conflict & Resolution has selected Bartek Konopka's German/Polish co-production Rabbit a la Berlin, which has already been successfully shown at many international documentary film festivals; and Scandinavian Focus will present Max Manus [+see also:

by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Roening.

Germany is further represented by two shorts: Lennart Ruff’s No Special Incidents, which premiered at Cannes in German Films' short film program NEXT GENERATION 2009, and Paul Cotter’s The Berlin Wall.

HIFF awards generous prizes in the various program sections and enjoys very close contact with American buyers, distributors and journalists.
