Ironclad gets underway in Wales

by

Principal photography has commenced and will go on for seven weeks on location and in studio in Wales for Mythic International Entertainment’s Ironclad. This action/historical feature is the biggest ever production to be shot entirely in Wales.

Based on true events, the film is set in the year 1215. Post the signing of the Magna Carta, the tyrant King John employs a group of brutal mercenaries against a band of rebel barons led by Baron Albany and the mighty Templar Knight Marshall. The rebels have control of the strategically located fortress Rochester Castle and the King lays siege to it. What follows is an epic struggle, one of the bloodiest in English history.

Benattar said, “It’s a project like this that makes what we do so exciting. Jonathan’s screenplay drips with morality, brutality and blood. The amazing ensemble of actors that have gravitated towards the piece, true craftsmen at the top of their game, proves how compelling the story is.”

ContentFilm International is handling worldwide sales. ContentFilm President Jamie Carmichael said, “Jonathan and Rick have put together an extraordinarily talented production team for their epic action movie, and it’s a testament to them and the exceptional quality of the project, that they were able to do so.”
