Zavattini still modern

The Venice Film Festival and the the Film Critics’ Guild (SNCCI) will take time out to remember the consummate art of the late, great screenwriter, Cesare Zavattini on what would have been his 100th birthday. A round table discussion entitled “News of Zavattini” is scheduled to take place on 5 September in the press conference room at the Casino with keynote speeches by directors, Giuseppe Bertolucci, Carlo Lizzani and Francesco Maselli, and the artistic director of the Festival, Moritz De Hadeln.
Also on 5 September, the SNC Foundation and International Critics’ Week will pay tribute to Zavattini by screening Darò un milione, which was directed by Mario Camerini in 1953.
