Wadimoff picks up Ecumenical Jury Prize

film profile], about the war-ravaged Palestinian territory, scooped the Ecumenical Jury Prize (worth €2,500) in the Berlinale Forum section.
Nicolas Wadimoff, who is also a producer (Akka Films), has helmed several projects, including two narrative features (Stowaways, 1996, and Mondialito, 2000) and the film Alinghi: the Inside Story, where Palestine remains the central focus.
After shooting The Golden Gloves of Akka in 1992 in Saint-Jean d'Acre in Galilee, Wadimoff organised documentary workshops with young Palestinian directors, which resulted in some acclaimed shorts. He went on to co-direct The Agreement (2005) with Béatrice Guelpa, a film about the Geneva Peace Initiative launched by three Palestinians and three Israelis.
His company Akka Films also co-produced Raja Amari’s Buried Secrets [+see also:
