Les Arcs launches call for European co-production projects

by

After last year’s very successful first edition, Les Arcs European Film Festival is busily preparing its second edition, which will run from December 11-18, 2010.

Besides the 50 features selected by Frédéric Boyer (also delegate general of the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight) and a Focus on Denmark, the event will host 20 European film projects at the Co-production Village.

From December 11-14, the initiators of selected projects (feature-length narrative, animated and documentary films, where 25% of the financing must be secured) will be invited to Les Arcs. There, they will meet with potential co-producers (including members of EAVE - European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs), distributors (some from Europa Distribution and the French companies in DIRE), regional funds (Rhône-Alpes Cinéma and other partners in European network Cine Regio), international sellers and representatives from the financial sector.

The very convivial Co-production Village also organises conferences on European film production and distribution with a special focus this year on Scandinavian countries, particularly their funding systems.

Project registration is open until September 17 on the festival website.
