Six candidates for the Delluc
- Winner to be announced on 11 December and finalists include François Ozon, Nicole Garcia and Michel Blanc
Gilles Jacob, the president of the jury that awards one of French cinema’s most important prizes, the “Louis Delluc”, announced the six films that will compete for this year’s award. The lucky six are Nicole Garcia’s L’Adversaire, Costa Gavras’ Amen, Michel Blanc’s Kiss whoever you like, Nicolas Philibert’s Etre et Avoir, François Ozon’s 8 Women and Jean-François Stévenin’s Mischka. Gilles Jacob is also the president of the Cannes Film Festival.
Set up in 1937 in memory of the French film critic, writer and filmmaker, past winners of the eponymous award include some of France’s greatest directors like Jean Renoir, Sautet, Clouzot, Bresson, Truffaut, Pialat. Last year’s winner was Patrice Chéreau for Intimacy.
The winner will be announced on 11 December at Fouquet’s on the Champs-Elysées-
