Sweden’s Lasse Hallström is to direct a film about Giacomo Casanova, the greatest lover of all time and the subject of numerous movies. Twice nominated for an Oscar, for The Cider House Rules and My Life as a Dog, Hallström is scheduled to begin shooting this new film early next year. The plot centres on Casanova’s finally falling in love with a woman who fails to succumb to his charms, and the names of the cast have yet to be announced.
