by

French film production and distribution giant, Gaumont continues to add to its library of titles after buying up Télédis.
Founded in the Fifties, Télédis owned one of the best film archives of French cinema with 274 features by some of the most famous French director like Renoir, Clouzot, Ophuls, Becker and Melville. The archive was a treasure trove for film fans with titles like Lola Montès, L’assassin habite au 21 and La traversée de Paris. By virtue of this acquisition, Gaumont has significantly strengthened its pre-eminent position as one of the leading conservers and distributors of films. The Gaumont library now contains some 1300 titles covering every aspect and the whole history of the 7th art, from the silent films made between 1895 and 1930 to the present day.
