12/12/2002 - Nicolas Philibert's feature, best documentary at the EFA 2002, has beeen awarded with the illustrious Louis Delluc' Award

Even more honors for Être et Avoir. Last December 11th this documentary by Nicolas Philibert received Premio Louis Delluc 2002 as the best French film of the year.
Ever since its release at the end of August, Philibert’s first full-length film has proven itself to be a true masterpiece by bringing in more than 1.5 million viewers to cinemas and winning the enthusiasm of film professionals. Among it’s well-earned honors are the Grand Prize at the French Cinema Festival in Florence and the Premio Arte for the best European documentary of 2002 at the December 7th European Film Festival. Now it will add this latest and equally prestigious Delluc Award to its showcase.
The jury of the 60th edition of the Delluc was presided over by Gilles Jacob and included the George Cravenne (founder of the Césars, otherwise known as the French Oscars), by critics Pierre Boutiller (of France Musiques), Gérard Lefort (of Libération), and Marie- Noëlle Tranchant (of Le Figaro). This distinguished team chose to recognize Philibert’s documentary about a nursery school run by a village teacher near Clermont-Ferrand for the quality of the reportage. So now Nicolas Philibert joins the elite ranks of great names of French cinema who have also won the Delluc: Marcel Carné, Jean Cocteau, Jacques Tati, Luois Malle, Claude Chabrol, Jacques Demy, and Alain Resnais.
