High Point brightens Dusk

UK sales outfit High Point Films has acquired world rights for Hanro Smitsman’s psychological drama Dusk [+see also:

The film challenges its audiences to step inside the collective mind of a group of teenage friends whose fragile chemistry, poisoned by a mix of jealousy, insecurity and peer pressure, leads them to plot the cold-blooded murder of one of their own.

Smitsman (Skin [+see also:

), directed from a script by Anjet Daanje. Amsterdam based Corrino Media Group produced the film. Dusk premiered at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, and has since made its American bow at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Smitsman also won the Critics’ Award for the film at the Netherlands Film Festival.

High Point is also handling international sales for Skin. The company’s Carey Fitzgerald said, “Dusk is powerful evidence of an increasingly assured talent which, in our view, deserves international recognition, and we are proud to be the company spreading the word.”

High Point will be giving Dusk its industry launch at the European Film Market in Berlin in February.
