Film and Music Entertainment - F&ME and SilverLight Productions have teamed to produce London thriller Mercy Street, written by Peter Milligan and co-written and to be directed by debutant Keith English.

English is a prolific director of commercials and short films. Mercy Street follows an unbalanced and traumatised ex-soldier whose life is tipped into tragedy by the casually selfish actions of a stranger.

The film is currently casting in London and the production dates and initial casting and finance will be announced in Cannes.

English said, “What I love about it are the levels of emotion. On the one hand you have a very bold and exciting thriller, on another it's a personal story about families and grief. In a nut shell it’s what happens when celebrity culture comes face to face with the traumas of war.”

F&ME’s Mike Downey said, “We have had the itch to do an edgy contemporary London based thriller for a number of years. And it’s great that something with as much contemporary resonance as Mercy Street will scratch that itch. Keith is a tremendous talent and we are looking forward to getting him behind the camera later in the year and to revisiting London via his acute and original eye.”
