Co-scripted by the director and Levy, the film centres on Louise (Higelin), a young woman who is about to give birth to her first child, while her mother Alice (Bouquet) is on the brink of dying. After the latter’s death, Louise, who has had a little girl named Angèle, tries to piece together her mother’s turbulent life... Bob Geldof will play Georges, Louise’s father.

Produced by Dimitri Rassam for Chapter 2 and by ARP Sélection, Mauvaise Fille has received co-production support from France 3 Cinéma and a pre-acquisition from Canal+.

The eight-week shoot will take place mainly in the Paris region, but the team will also spend time near Arles and on the Isle of Houat in Brittany. French distribution will be managed by ARP, while international sales are being handled by Kinology.
