Waltz re-teams with Tarantino
by Bénédicte Prot
Viennese actor Christoph Waltz, who won Best Actor at Cannes 2009 for his wonderful performance in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds [+see also:
film profile], will re-team with the mischievous screenwriter-director for the project Django Unchained, a spaghetti western which looks set to entertain whilst exploring racism in the United States through the story of an escaped slave.
Waltz will play the role of a German bounty hunter who travels with Django and teaches him the trade. He will star alongside Italian actor Franco Nero, who had the title role in Sergio Corbucci’s classic in the genre Django (1966).
It is not yet known when shooting will take place or when the film will be released.
