Morricone to head Rome Film Festival jury

by

Oscar-winning composer Ennio Morricone will head the jury at the 6th Rome International Film Festival (October 27-November 4, 2011). The international jury will pick the winners of the Marc'Aurelio Award for Best Film, Marc'Aurelio Awards for Best Actress and Best Actor, and the Marc'Aurelio Grand Jury Prize from the films in Official Competition (between 12 and 14 titles).

One of the greatest film composers in the world, masterful Morricone wrote the unforgettable scores to Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in America and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. He has received many awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Oscar, the Leopard of Honour at Locarno, the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at Venice, several Golden Globes, David di Donatello Awards, Nastri d'Argento Awards and, recently in Stockholm, the Polar Music Prize, dubbed the “Swedish Nobel Prize for Music”.
