Content Film has acquired British film Wreckers for international sales and Artificial Eye has picked up the film for UK theatrical release. The UK will also see a day and date release on Curzon’s On Demand service.

Written and directed by Dictynna Hood (A Healing Touch), Wreckers stars Benedict Cumberbatch (The Whistleblower), Claire Foy (Season of The Witch) and Shaun Evans (Dread) and produced by Simon Onwurah (Mama Africa).

The film follows a married couple that move back to the husband’s childhood village to start a family. A surprise visit from his brother ignites sibling rivalry and exposes the lies embedded in the couple’s relationship.

Hood said, “I grew up in a village and I’m fascinated by all that goes on under the surface; how people can hide things and lie to each other about the stuff that’s most important to them, even though they love each other.”

Content Film’s Toby Melling said, ‘“We were completely bowled over when we first screened Wreckers. This is a mature, compelling relationship drama beautifully acted by some of Britain’s brightest young acting talent.”
