“Noche italiana” is organised by the Italian Institute of Culture, Italia Cinema and Unefa and around 50 per cent of the films presented at the event go on to get a Spanish theatrical distribution.
“Aside from getting important results in terms of the image and visibility of Italian films in Spain, “Noche” is an efficient door-to-door promotional vehicle on a number of different levels that works in all territories and is based on the American concept of the sneak preview for film buyers and a specially selected audience of opinion makers,” said a spokesperson for Italia Cinema. “In 2001 we began a Paris showcase in collaboration with ICE (Italian Foreign Trade Institute) and Cahiers du Cinéma and in 2002 we extended the range of our events to include Berlin. This year we expect to inaugurate London and Moscow.”
