by

Box Office Italy Anica: record market share for Italian cinema in the first half of 2011 74 Italian films premiered during the first six months of 2011, with an extraordinary result of intakes of up to 150 million Euros (compared to 105M in the same period last year) and 24.3 million tickets sold (17.4 million in 2010). The market share for intakes amounts to 42.16% (26.90% last year) a sum that hadn’t been reached for decades.

The figures provided by Anica during the conference 'Banks and Cinema 2011' at the Venice Film Festival record 59 films produced with 100% Italian capital in the first half of 2011 (54 during the same period last year) and 13 co-produced films, of which nine are mainly Italian (respectively 17 and seven during the first half of last year). In total, 72 films compared with 71 last year, data that indicates a situation of stability that has not been damaged by the first months’ incertitude with regards to the renewal of the fiscal measures on tax credit.
