by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani (pictured), which will be screened in competition on Saturday, February 11, and will be sold at the EFM by Rai Trade (see the news); and Franco Battiato’s Händel (a Rebis Film GmbH and L'Ottava co-production), which will be screened at Berlin’s Babylon cinema on Monday, February 13. The latter, which is in pre-production phase, is a film about the life and work of the great German composer, written by Battiato together with Francesco Ferracin and Raffaele Rinaldi, and will see the participation of Johannes Brandrup and Willem Dafoe.

The Film Commission Roma&Lazio’s efforts in the area of international co-production continue with the CRC Capital Regions for Cinema network, in collaboration with Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, the Commission du Film Paris Ile-de-France and Madrid Film Commission: on Tuesday, February 14, the 24th edition of the CRC Coproduction meetings will take place in the building of the Berlino-Brandenburgo Region. Taking part are over 150 production houses from France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Brazil, this edition’s guest country.

In Berlin, the Film Commission Roma&Lazio will be hosted by the EFM’s Italia Pavilion (a space created with the contribution of MiBAC’s Directorate General for Cinema), together with other institutions and industry experts such as Anica, Luce-Cinecittà, Italian Film Commissions, Festival di Roma, Filmexport Group, Intramovies, Minerva and Variety Communication.
