Ken Loach gets Spirit Of ‘45

has embarked on his new venture. Spirit Of ’45 will be a feature documentary that looks back at 1945 when Britain emerged from a long and draining war. The film is about the spirit of a new kind of socialism that shaped that era and reflects upon where those ideals are now.

Loach will use footage from Britain’s regional and national archives, alongside photographs, sound recordings, and contemporary interviews to create a political and social narrative.

BFI Film Fund is co-financing with Film4 and Channel 4. The film is a co-production between Fly Film Company and Sixteen Films. Kate Ogborn (The Deep Blue Sea [+see also:

Lizzie Francke is the lead Senior Executive for BFI Film Fund, Katherine Butler is Executive Producer for Film4 and Anna Miralis is Executive Producer for Channel 4. Development support came from the UK Film Council and EM Media.
