screening today out of competition, has secured a number of sales on its high profile documentaries Woody Allen: A Documentary which screened at Cannes Classics and Roman Polanski: A Film Memoir shown out of competition.

Robert Weide’s tribute to Woody Allen’s life and work has been selling steadily in Cannes. After Scandinavia (Scanbox Entertainment Sweden), the US (New Video), Canada (Films We Like) and Timestory (Korea), new buyers that picked up the film include the UK (Soda Pictures), Spain (Versus Entertainment), Switzerland (Agora Films), and Japan (Cinema Rise).Memento Films will release it in France on May 30.

Laurent Bouzereau’s intimate portrayal of another iconic filmmaker, Roman Polanski, was sold to Australia (Schock), Latin America (Polar Star) and Hong Kong (Edko). Territories that will also release it include France (Pathe), Italy (Lucky Red) and Germany (Studio Babelsberg).

The Dutch documentary Anton Corbijn: Inside Out by Klaartje Quirijns, which premiered at the market, was picked up by Australia (Schock) and Hong Kong (Edko) among other territories. The film was four years in the making for Quirijns who had rare access to the photographer/filmmaker himself, as well as other celebrities such as Bono and George Clooney.

Today’s focus for Hanway is on Bertolucci’s new film Me and You co-written by Niccolo Ammaniti from his own novel. The film and centers on a 14-year-old boy whose refuge in his own house’s basement is disturbed by the arrival of his heroin-addicted half-sister.
