Eclair rules digital standardisation
French company, Eclair now dominates Europe’s the digital laser post-production sector known as "étalonnage" or "standardisation". This follows the withdrawal from this field by a pioneer of this technique, DuboiColor.
Eclair is about to inaugurate third standardisation laboratory which will contribute to the company joining the trinity of global market leaders, Hollywood’s Technicolor and Deluxe. A growing number of French filmmakers are applying digital standardisation and in 2002, Eclair worked on 9 French features including L’adversaire, Le boulet, Le transporteur, Monsieur N and Effroyables jardins. The prospects for 2003 are better, with work scheduled on 7 films between January and June. There is every indication that this technique will gradually become standard over the next 5 to 10 years.
