“I consider The Italian Pastry Chef a frontier film,” says the director. “Between two countries separated by a section of no man’s land. Between good and evil. Between dark humour and other genres. The whole story revolves around this person he venerates. Sweetly unaware of events around him, Achille Franzi is a diabetic pastry chef, whose traumatic childhood has left him a spectator of his life. But sometimes destiny forces us to make a choice, which is what Achille is forced to do, managing unpredictably to reclaim his own life.
