Eye on Films has joined forces with Dailymotion to offer two online film premieres on October 29 and November 5, each two days before a theatrical release.

“This initiative aims to promote independent films so that they are seen by as many people as possible,” says Loïc Margeron from Eye On Films. “It's the opportunity to experiment with new promotion strategies, by bringing together communication on different forms of media and giving greater visibility to films in the hope that a larger number of viewers then go to the cinemas. The wish that motivates this move is to develop real media complementarity for auteur films that sometimes have trouble competing with more accessible or commercial films. Eye on Films is convinced that a new audience, whose members are sometimes more used to seeing films in multiplexes, should have regular access to works less exhibited within that system.”

Last April, Eye on Film broadcast the full version of Polish director Bartosz Konopka’s Fear of Falling for the first time and for free online. The move attracted 6,000 French web users four months before its official release in cinemas.
