'Cinema Marathon' with Adriana Chiesa in St. Petersburg
- The event is set to introduces new acquisition methods for local broadcasters in Russia
Russian organization Media Press is hosting a 'Cinema Marathon' in St. Petersburg in honour of Italian film exporter Adriana Chiesa. From November 23-25, around 100 representatives of local television stations in Russia are coming together to take a look at Italian films. "So far, we sell all the distribution rights in Russia to a leading broadcaster in Moscow," said Adriana Chiesa, whose Rome-based world sales company Adriana Chiesa Enterprises has a huge library of Italian titles.
The Cinema Marathon brings together many small local broadcasters who do not attend the big international film markets, because they only need to acquire distribution rights for their own region. "This event will give them the possibility of dealing directly with us," explained Chiesa. "The benefit for the film programmers is that they don‘t need to buy Italian quality titles from a distributor."
The Cinema Marathon in St. Petersburg will present a selection of five contempary Italian feature films. In addition, various promo trailers will give buyers a glimpse of upcoming Italian productions.
