A positive outcome for the Trentino Film Commission as it ends its first year of activity. In 2012, the region hosted seventeen domestic and international productions, among which one in competition at Sundance (Giorgio Diritti’s film Un giorno devi andare based in between Trentino and the Amazon – photo) and one in the shortlist for the Oscars (short Il turno di notte lo fanno le stelle by Edoardo Ponti, in competition during the recent Rome Festival and shot in the Dolomites).

Claudio Noce’s second film, La foresta di ghiaccio, will kick off 2013. The film is a thriller set in a small Trentino village in the Dolomites. Filming will start shortly.

The generated grand total for the Trentino Film Fund in 2012 has been estimated to be around 300% (productions spent over €3 million across the region). The next deadline for asking for contribution from the fund has been set to be January 30.
