Vanishing Waves leads nominees in 2013 Silver Cranes
- Lithuania's National Film Awards sees one of the country's most successful films walk away with a clutch of nominations

film profile] (AKA Aurora - review - photo) continues its dominance of the Lithuanian film scene as it receives nine nominations in the 2013 Silver Cranes – the country’s national film and TV awards handed out by the Lithuanian Film Academy. With the film already in possession of a raft of awards from across the world – its latest being a special mention at the 31st edition of the Brussels Fantastic Film Festival – there is a good chance that the erotic sci-fi film will be add more trophies to its collection when the awards are announced. Other popular nominees in this year’s awards include the love story Letters to Sofia and the comedy Lonely Valentine.
25 films were chosen from a selection of 57 by a jury consisting of Rasa Paukštytė (Film Critic), Gintaras Sodeika (Composer), Renata Šukaitytė, Ieva Staržinskaitė (Film and Culture programme coordinator and interpreter and Kornelijus Matuzevičius (Chairman of the Jury, Director & Cinematographer).
The winners will be announced on May 11th in Vilnius. The full list of nominees is:
