Nordisk Film TV Finland becomes local Eyeworks

- Already operating in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, the Netherlands-based Eyeworks Group takes over Nordisk Film TV Finland
The Netherlands-based Eyeworks Group, which already operates production companies for television in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, has acquired Nordisk Film TV Finland, which has handled the outlet from Finnish producers Marko Röhr and Ilkka Matila’s MRP Matila Röhr Productions.
Mainly located in Helsinki and renamed Eyeworks Finland, the new outfit will be owned by the Eyworks Group and the domestic operative management. MRP Matila Röhr Productions will not be part of the new entity, but will continue to focus on local feature films and documentaries.
Nordisk Film TV Finland is well-known for local programmes such as A Little Bit Of Fixing and reality shows Kalajoen Hiekat, Ylläs (set at a ski resort), Going Home (lifestyle) and Love Connection (dating), adding international formats including Singing Bee, The Great Bake Off, Who Do You Think You Are?, Finland's Worst Driver and Celebrity Wedding Planner.
The Eyeworks Group controls major production companies in Denmark (Copenhagen), Norway (Oslo) and Sweden (Stockholm, Göteborg) – the Norwegian branch was set up in 2010, when the group acquired the majority stake in Dinamo Story Productions. They all stage a versatile range of programmes from in-house developed formats to local adaptations of international shows.
Nordisk Film TV Finland was the last Nordic TV production company run by the Danish major, which in 2009 sold the Danish, Norwegian and Swedish equivalents to France’s Banijay Group. – Established in 1990, MRP Matila Röhr Productions has so far signed 40 features, such as most recently the kidpic by Finnish director Taavi Vartia, Rolli and the Golden Key [+see also:
