Born in Paris in 1964, Garasino started working in cinema when he was 18 as a director, combining it with university studies. From then onwards, he tried his hand at most jobs in the areas of directing and producing. He specialised as an executive producer in one of the sector’s leading companies, and as an independent producer with his own company.

He worked as director with Carlos Saura, Jaime Chávarri, Vicente Aranda, Fernando Trueba, Luis Llosa, Francisco J. Lombardi and Fernando Colomo, and participated in projects including El DoradoEl sueño del mono locoNo se lo digas a nadie and La fiesta del chivo, among others.

He ended up going into the education side of things, taking on the role of director of activities at the Media Business School. Between 2011 and 2013, he headed Spain’s Academy of Cinema Arts and Sciences.
