, the first feature by Fred Nicolas (who notably directed in 2009 the medium-length documentary Rouge bandit). According to our information, the cast features young rapper Camélia Pand'Or and Jisca Kalvenda (who just filmed the TV series Trois fois Manon by Jean-Xavier de Lestrade).

Lenny lives alone with her brother. All alone, she has two obsessions: getting her daughter back, whom she had when she was too young, and rap music, the only way of escaping her daily routine. One night, as she is secretly singing, Lenny meets Maxine, a young undocumented Congolese migrant who is left speechless by her voice. The two girls adopt each other immediately...

Produced by Elisabeth Perez for CHAZ Productions, Max et Lenny benefits from an advance on receipts from the CNC, backing from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (Paca) region, funding from the GAN Foundation and Sofica Indefilms. The five weeks of filming (taking place entirely in Marseille) will end on October 4. The French distribution will be handled by Shellac and international sales by Alpha Violet.
