Endresen becomes consultant after 30 years with the company he founded

Norwegian producer and managing director of Oslo-based production outfit, Motlys, Sigve Endresen (photo), has signed for a 60% job as a film consultant with Norwegian regional film centre, Filmkraft Rogaland. “I have now worked for Motlys for 30 years, pension age is coming closer, and I felt if I should try something new, time had come. Besides I am from Stavanger, and I have always had a heart for the region,” Endresen – who founded Oslo-based Motlys - told local press.
Owned by the county of Rogaland (50%) and three municipalities, including Stavanger (35%) and Haugesund – the host of the annual Norwegian International Film Festival - Filmkraft Rogaland operates on an annual €550,000 budget primarily to increase the number of film and TV productions in the region. Endresen’s Motlys has placed the shooting of five features, one novella film and a TV series there.
From January 1, Norwegian producer-director Thomas Robsahm – who has produced 22 and directed 11 shorts and documentaries – will take over as managing director of Motlys, with Endresen as special consultant. Robsahm will combine the job with his position as teacher of production at the Norwegian Film School in Lillehammer. Yngve Sæther og Hans-Jørgen Osnes will continue as Motlys producers.
Himself a film director, Endresen received two Amandas – Norway’s national film prize – for his For harde livet (1989), which was voted both Best Norwegian Feature and Best Norwegian Documentary. Last year he was named Best Producer (with Brede Hovland) for Jannicke Systad Jacobsen’s comedyTurn Me On, Dammit [+see also:
