both received 14 nominations for the Robert awards, which the Danish Film Academy will announce at a January 26 ceremony in Copenhagen’s Tivoli Hotel & Congress Centre.

The Hunt is also leading the race for the Bodils –- Denmark’s other national film prize, given by the Danish Film Critics Association – with Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac [+see also:

. But von Trier’s production company, Zentropa Entertainments, has decided not to enter the film for the awards until the director’s original cut has been launched later this year. Part 1 will be world-premiered at the Berlinale.

Instead the closest contenders for most statuettes are Christoffer Boe’s Sex, Drugs & Taxation (13 nominations) and Michael Noer’s Northwest [+see also:

(11 nominations). Depicting the friendship between two Danish eccentrics - Simon Spies, the king of charter holidays, and Mogens Glistrup, the controversial tax lawyer-turned-top politician - Boe’s film reached 330,000 admissions in local theatres.

When the Roberts were introduced 30 years ago, Nils MalmrosBeauty and the Beast won four categories, including Best Feature and Best Original Screenplay. He is also competing for the 2014 trophies: his Sorrow and Joy [+see also:

received 10 nominations, ao Best Feature, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. At the Robert ceremony, the Academy will also reward shorts, documentaries and television series.
