, released domestically last autumn and taking a total of more than 27,000 admissions, the sequel, Another Love Building, was shot during winter and is currently in post-production. The film was made with the same team, from director Iulia Rugină and her screenwriting partners Ana Agopian and Oana Răsuceanu, to producers-actors Dragoş Bucur, Alexandru Papadopol and Dorian Boguţă, as well as DoP Vivi Drăgan Vasile.

Produced by actoriedefilm.ro, the acting school founded by the three producers, the film was shot over two weeks near the city of Bran. It largely uses the same formula as the original film and serves as a graduation project for the school’s 23 students. The events take place a few days before New Year’s Eve, six months after the romantic tribulations portrayed in the first film, and the movie shows the same three counselors trying to solve relationship problems.

Produced with a total budget of €150,000, the project was supposed to receive €52,000 from the Romanian National Film Center in April, when it won a grant at the most recent contest organised by the institution. However, as the contest was delayed, the film’s team had already finished the shoot and preferred not to access the amount and thus remain independent. Another Love Building was co-produced by Papaya Advertising, Dakino Production, Chainsaw, Cutare Film, Zbang Film and Fundația Arte Vizuale.

The film is expected to be released next February. It is one of approximately ten independent features produced, released or scheduled for release in Romania in 2014, and an example of how young filmmakers can achieve success outside the system.
