Lorena González Olivares to be the new CEO of the ICAA

Barely one day after Susana de la Sierra publicly revealed her resignation from the post of CEO of the Film and Audiovisual Arts Institute (ICAA – read more), the main state body for the Spanish film industry, the government has announced the identity of her replacement: Lorena González Olivares.
Since February this year, González Olivares has been employed as general secretary of the institute. According to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, “her appointment represents a continuation of the work that has been carried out up until now by the body’s management”.
Apart from during these last six months, the career path of the new CEO has not been related to the film industry, but rather to public administration. A civil servant since 1997, she has occupied various positions at the Ministries of Public Administration, Health and Social Policy, and Finance, as well as at the National Competition Commission.
