CNC support for 23 Cannes titles

France’s National Film Centre CNC is celebrating the fact that 22 features and one short film it helped produce, were selected for screening in the various sections of the 56th Cannes Film Festival.
The money was assigned under a variety of schemes that include box office advance of receipts, support for foreign language films, South Funds, support for French-Canadian productions, support for screenwriting development and selective support for distribution.

The beneficiaries include five films selected for the official competition : Franco-British Les Egarés by André Téchiné (pre-production box office advance), Tirésia by Bertrand Bonello (pre-production box office advance and support for Franco-Canadian films), La petite Lili by Claude Miller (support for Franco-Canadian films), Franco-German co-production Father and Son by Alexandre Sokourov (support for foreign language films) and Les invasions barbares [+see also:

Four CNC productions will screen out of competition : Franco-Austrian-German co-production, Wolfzeit by Michaël Haneke (pre-production box office advance), Qui a tué Bambi? by Gilles Marchand (first film box office advance and development support), Franco-Portuguese co-production, Va et vient by João César Monteiro (support for foreign language films) and an animated feature entitled Les triplettes de Belleville [+see also:
