, the feature debut by Eva Husson, has been in full swing for two weeks now. A graduate from the American Film Institute who has participated in the Sundance workshops and the Berlinale Talent Project, and who turned a lot of heads with her short film Hope to Die, among others, the young director has assembled a cast including Daisy BroomFred Hotier, Lorenzo LefèbvreMarilyn Lima and Finnegan Oldfield, according to Cineuropa’s sources. For the record, the project selected at last year’s CineMart at Rotterdam had also received informal sponsorship from well-known Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier.

Written by the director herself, the story is set in the city of Biarritz. Sixteen-year-old George, the most stunning girl in school, falls in love with Alex. In order to get his attention, she starts up a group game in which Alex, Nikita, Laetitia, Gabriel – and soon the entire school – are set to discover, test and push the boundaries of their sexuality. Amidst the scandals, love affairs and the crumbling of the values they had stood for, they each deal with this highly intense period in a completely different way.

Produced by Didar Domehri, Laurent Baudens and Gaël Nouaille for Full House (a Maneki Films and Borsalino Productions label), Bang Gang has been pre-purchased by Canal + and OCS (Orange cinéma séries). Backed also by the CNC’s advance on receipts, the Aquitaine region (where the entirety of the shoot will take place before wrapping on 5 October), the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department and Sofica B Media 2012, the film will be distributed in France by Ad Vitam.

Full House recently produced Return to Ithaca (read the news) by Laurent Cantet, which will be unveiled to the press and to industry professionals on 31 August at Venice Days, as part of the 71st Venice Film Festival. The title will be screened on 6 September as a Special Presentation at the Toronto International Film Festival, ahead of its French theatrical release on 3 December via Haut et Court Distribution.
