Sarajevo Film Festival Co-Production Market Awards handed out

- Nana Ekvtimishvili and Simon Gross won the Eurimages Co-production Development Award for their new project, My Happy Family
The CineLink Awards were dished out on 23 August, during the Sarajevo Film Festival awards ceremony. The Co-Production Market jury, comprising Behrooz Hashemian (Silkroad Production), Čedomir Kolar (ASAP Films), Georges Goldenstern (Cannes Film Festival), Dorien Van de Pas (Netherlands Film Fund), Claire Launay and Annamaria Lodato (ARTE France), delivered the EAVE Scholarship Prize to Turkish director, writer and producer Ipek Kent.
The Living Pictures Service CineLink Award (giving support up to €10,000) went to Ivan Marinovic (Montenegro) for his project The Black Pin [+see also:

film profile]. The Arte International Relations CineLink Award (€6,000) went to Hilal, Feza and Other Planets by Turkish writer, director and producer Kutluğ Ataman. Meanwhile, Pari, by Greek director Siamak Etemadi (produced by Konstantinos Kontovrakis), received the CNC CineLink Award (€10,000), and the successful duo Nana Ekvtimishvili and Simon Gross (winners of last year’s Heart of Sarajevo for their beautiful In Bloom [+see also:

This year’s edition of CineLink presented 14 projects from Southeast Europe and the Caucasus region, and three guest works in collaboration with the Doha Film Institute, IMCINE and the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture. A total of 850 film-industry professionals were accredited for CineLink, and 700 meetings were scheduled during the four-day event.
“It’s my first time here at CineLink,” said Croatian director Aldo Tardozzi (Hotel Zagorje), “and it’s a great experience because you meet a huge number of people and you are forced to test your own project.”
“The first part of CineLink, the script development workshop,” added Hotel Zagorje’s producer, Barbara Jukopila, “has been extremely important for us.”
“I’ve participated in CineLink with some of my previous projects,” commented Romanian producer Marcian Lazar. “What I really appreciate here is that they truly support our projects; they follow their development and somehow take care of us. They build strong relationships with participants.”
“I adore this festival,” admitted Greek producer Alexandra Boussiou (The Giant). “The organisers are very passionate and are doing some exceptional work here that is invaluable for people that come from the region, as I do. It’s a very important meeting point like no other, and it has a great impact on the projects. What also plays an important role for me is the city itself and the way the people here love and embrace the festival.”
