On 17 October 2014, at the Casa del Cinema in Rome,the traditional European Info Day will take place. Last year it focused on the new EU programme Creative Europe – MEDIA sub programme (2014-2020). Almost a year since its launch, it is now possible to make an initial analysis of the programme.
The event will open in the morning with a welcome speech by Enrico Bufalini, Istituto Luce Cinecittà, Coordinator of the Creative Europe Desk/MEDIA Italy, followed by Chiara Fortuna, Mibact - Dg Cinema executive and Representative of the Creative Europe Programme, and Giuseppe Massaro, Head of the Creative Europe Desk Italy/MEDIA Rome office. He will introduce the main topics for discussion, and present initial data to professionals present, who will be invited to interact and participate in the debate.
Next, a section on MEDIA support for production with a technical focus on how to present a good application for the development of a production project and for TV programming support, with the participation of spokespersons from success stories, selected for their support to EC MEDIA development within the first 2014 deadline with a creative documentary and a fiction by Alessandro Carroli (Kiné) and Mario Chemello (Imago Orbis) respectively. This section will be hosted by three Creative Europe Desk Italy/MEDIA Italy directors, from the Rome (Giuseppe Massaro), Turin (Silvia Sandrone) and Bari offices (Cristina Piscitelli).
In the afternoon, a workshop on film marketing for producers, hosted by Mathias Noschis from Alphapanda, a company that specializes in marketing for audiovisual and new digital media. The workshop will focus on how to build, during development, a marketing and promotion strategy for a movie (fiction and non-fiction), that is effective and innovative - key to achieving a quality and competitive application for MEDIA funds.
The event is organized by the Creative Europe Desk Italy/MEDIA in collaboration with The Business Street, with the support of Mibact - DG Cinema, the Lazio Region and Istituto Luce Cinecittà.
