09/12/2014 - Information sharing and exchanging ideas are on the agenda

The Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB) has signed bi-lateral agreements with the Producers Guild of America (PGA) and the Producers Guild of Italy (AGPCI). The agreements are designed to foster co-operation between the PGGB and its counterparts. The focus will be on creating relationships for information sharing and exchanging ideas in film and television production of mutual benefit to their respective members and industries.

Alison Small, chief executive of the PGGB, said, “International partnerships underpin a huge amount of film and television production, and are very much a part of the day-to-day business, so it makes sense to explore opportunities to share ideas and experience.”

PGA executive director Vance Van Petten said, “Today, storytellers are creating content for a global audience, and frequently producing that content on a global scale. International partnerships like these not only lay the groundwork for information exchange and new production opportunities, but facilitate creative insights into the shared nature of story across cultures and marketplaces.”

Martha Capello, president of AGPCI, remarked, “This new agreement that AGPCI offers to the Italian film and television producers will surely enrich the international activity of the Italian producers.”

The PGA and the AGPCI signed a bi-lateral agreement earlier this year. Italian representatives attended the PGA’s “Produced By Conference” hosted by Warner Bros, and in March 2015, a delegation of PGA members is planning to attend an Italian Producers event in Pescara, Italy.
