Trentino Film Commission backs six new projects
Director Giuseppe Tornatore

Six new projects (three fiction films and three documentaries) will receive financing from the Trentino Film Commission 2014 Film Fund. Among these are the new movie by Giuseppe Tornatore, La corrispondenza, a love story set between Italy and England, produced by Paco Cinematografica and previously backed by Film Commission Torino Piemonte and BLS-Alto Adige Film Fund & Commission. The movie will have as its protagonist a female student faced with overcoming a profound feeling of guilt, helped by her astrophysics professor: starring Blake Lively and Jeremy Irons, original music by Ennio Morricone.

I wonder how much you’ll miss me) by Francesco Fei, a Mare Mosso and Invisible Film production, co-produced by Hungarian Laokoon Film Arts and by Croatian Sekvenca Production. At the heart of the story is Amanda, a young girl who with determination and courage takes on life’s problems, big and small, and succeeds in making her dreams come true. Starring Claudia Gerini.

, for direction by Urmas E. Liiv is produced by Decima Rosa from Trentino, is a horror-thriller based on the true story of a group of Estonian mountaineers in the Siberian Alps. Protagonists are Otto and Eero, two men with very different characters and thus often in conflict with each other. The movie was made in co-production with Estonia for Kopli Kinokompanii OÜ and with support from the Estonian Film Institute, the Estonian Cultural Endowment and from Estonian TV3.

Among the documentaries receiving financing is Oltre il confine - La storia di Ettore Castiglioni (lit. Beyond – the story of Ettore Castiglioni) directed by Andrea Azzetti and Federico Massa, produced by GiUMa Produzioni di Trento. This is the biography of Ettore Castiglioni, a legend in the mountaineering world during World War II. World War I, on the other hand, provides the backdrop for Animali nella Grande Guerra (lit. Animals in the Great War), a documentary by Folco Quilici produced by Red Film, centred on the living beings that toiled for the military machine at the time. Completing the list is Un libro in tasca (lit. Paperback) by Claudio Chianura, a documentary that examines the changes taking place in the Italian publishing world, produced by HAZE and co-produced by KR Movie from Trento.

The next deadline for requests for financing to the Trentino Film Commission Film Fund is 20 February 2015. Applications can be made for film and TV projects, local and national documentaries, development projects and projects to create new and original TV formats for local TV. For information click here.
